A friend of mine is doing a school assignment and chose me to answer some questions regarding creativity. After trying to answer the questions as best I could, I decided to share my answers with you! This is my viewpoint on what creativity is.
1. How do you define creativity?
Creativity is a way to express yourself through a medium like paint, writing, performance, video, pictures, etc. Creativity can be play and it can be work. Creative play is usually something you do for fun and peace. Creative work is taking advantage of that creative ability and using it for others.
My son Asher loves the Wingfeather Saga and I invited him to share his thoughts from the second book North Or Be Eaten. He and his mother, Jemma, put together this video interview!
Here's a transcript of the video:
Asher: I’m Asher Russell and today we are talking about one of my favorite books, North Or Be Eaten , by Andrew Petersen.
Jemma: Okay, so is it a standalone book or is it in a series?
Asher: It is in a series, it is a quadrility, so it is four books in total
Jemma: And how many of the books have you read?
Asher: Three! I want to read the fourth one, I haven’t gotten to that yet.
Jemma: Is this the favorite book in the series?
I must be a big Laura Ingalls Wilder fan because I remember watching the Little House On The Prairie on TV a lot as a child. I've also taken my family to the Wilder's homestead in Missouri. (It's not far from where I live.) Even so, Farmer Boy is the first book that I've read by Laura Ingalls Wilder. I was not disappointed. In fact, the whole family enjoyed it.
Farmer boy follows the life of Mrs. Wilder's husband Almanzo, when he was a young farm boy. It takes place in 1866 and is a sort of life and times story, showing us the life of a young boy who lived on a large family farm.
Did you know, here in the United States, there is fossilized proof that man lived during the time of the dinosaurs? If not, then sit down and get ready for some exciting information!
About an hour away from Chip and Joanna Gaines' Magnolia Silos in famous Waco Texas, is a little town named Glen Rose. There you'll find Dinosaur Valley State Park where there are fossilized dinosaur tracks pressed into the rocky, stone ground. There are lots of fossilized trails there.
Every Christmas my family and I sit down to watch an unusual Christmas Classic on DVD. It’s a documentary that tells the story of how an American lawyer discovered what the Star of Bethlehem was. Sound unusual? Maybe, but if you give this movie a chance, you’ll love it like I do!
Why is the star of Bethlehem a big deal? Because it’s amazing to see the lengths that our amazing God went to so we could know truth. God literally put signs in the skies so we could read them and understand the times.
