My son Asher loves the Wingfeather Saga and I invited him to share his thoughts from the second book North Or Be Eaten. He and his mother, Jemma, put together this video interview!
Here's a transcript of the video:
Asher: I’m Asher Russell and today we are talking about one of my favorite books, North Or Be Eaten , by Andrew Petersen.
Jemma: Okay, so is it a standalone book or is it in a series?
Asher: It is in a series, it is a quadrility, so it is four books in total
Jemma: And how many of the books have you read?
Asher: Three! I want to read the fourth one, I haven’t gotten to that yet.
Jemma: Is this the favorite book in the series?
Asher: I think I like them all equally. There is On The Edge Of The Dark Sea Of Darkness, North Or Be Eaten and The Monster In The Hollows. (And The fourth is The Warden And The Wolf King.)
Jemma: How many times have you read this book?
Asher: Ooh, over a hundred. I listen to it every single night and I’ve done that for about a year.
Jemma: Just this one, or the whole series?
Asher: The whole series.
Jemma: And how old are you?
Asher: I’m thirteen.
Jemma: Sow what age would you recommend this book for?
Asher: Ten to like forty. It is an amazing book. It great.
Jemma: Can you tell us a little about it without giving away…
Asher: Okay, …that’s the hard part. So what happens is a family has to escape these monsters, so they’re going north or they’ll be eaten. And there is a lot of drama, the family gets split up, lots of stuff happens. It’s a great book, full of surprises at every corner.
Jemma: And why do you like this book so well?
Asher: Because of the adventure, there’s monsters, there’s just adventure. You can feel it, the way they talk and everything.
Jemma: Do you feel like it’s a pretty clean book?
Asher: Yes, it is very clean.
Jemma: Is there anything else you would like to say about it?
Asher: Prepare to be surprised.
Jemma: Oooh, I like it when books end with a surprise.
Asher: It does.
